VTM: Setting
VTM By Night is set in the contemporary year of 2017, and is set in the fictional city of New Wessex, PA. This RP runs off VTM V5, with homebrew exceptions.
01/17 New Wessex is divided. Whilst kine bicker over their Presidential cadidates, kindred are beginning to filter out of major cities, seeking refuge in back water residences. Though, where Kindred flock, trouble follows.

VAMPIRE, THE RULES
SECTION 1: General ruleset
1.1 IC/OOC
I - The default form of the roleplay is Emote. II - Competitive forms such as desc/spam is allowed through consent of both participants. These forms are not and can not be enforced onto others. III - Once stated IC, your character becomes active within that scene, and can interact. IV - Once stated OOC, your character is paused momentarily. OOC can be used after a scene, once your character has stated leaving. V - OOC is prohibited during combat or when distracting others scening. VI - Abandoning combat forfeits your character, resulting in auto-death. Complications over internet disconnection/unforeseen circumstances must be brought to a member of staff. VII - IC actions are marked via * or -. VIII - OOC messages are marked with [] or ().
1.2 Sustaining Damage - Kindred
I - A Final death is a permanent death. II - Deaths are logged via screenshot threads, and are moderated with realism and reasoning taken into account. III - Superficial damage IE bruises, scrapes and minor cuts take a scene to heal. IV - Lethal damage IE being stabbed, crushed or shot multiple times takes one day to fully heal. V - Aggravated damage IE fire damage, loss of limbs, full body multilation varies on the severity. Exposure to sunlight and a kindreds fangs are common indicators of aggravated damage. VI - Torpor is measured through the severity of aggravated or upgraded lethal damage. Torpor is measured by a Vampires generation/humanity, and can be equal to death. VII - A Final deaths can be through immense fire damage, decapitation, removal of the heart, sustained aggravated damage whilst in torpor, immense and sustained lethal damage (ie, being fed through a woodchipper).
1.3 Setting
I - The Chronicle is set in 2017. II - Each night equals to one day OOC. III - The City of the Chronicle is New Wessex, PA. A fictional city.
1.4 Poor Roleplaying
I - Metagaming/Powergaming and the like are prohibited. II - All information used by characters must be gained through IC means. III - Enforcing your hits onto another without their reaction is Powergaming, and is prohibited. IV - Voiding anothers RP without consent of staff is also prohibited. V - Players may void their own actions, if they do not infringe on their decisions and consequences IC. In certain situations, this decision may be at the discretion of those in the scene, and staff. VI - All circumstances of powergaming/metagaming must be logged with the staff through screenshots.
1.5 Combat RP
I - As stated before, the default ruleset is emote. II - At BP 1, per night (OOC day) you can use 4 discipline abilities a day before needing to feed. III - Discipline abilities reset at the staff's discretion, and unless stated otherwise, carry through onto your next night. IE, if you used 2 Disciplines on one night, you would only have 2 to use on the next night you RP. IV - Powergaming is prohibited, and enforcing hits onto other players must be brought to the staff's attention. The same goes for those that use "godmode" and do not accept hits via either excessive dodging or other means. V - When using a discipline, please use its name when describing the attack with it. This prevents overall confusion. VI - Deaths must be posted to the "Pending Deaths" section on the forums, and will be moderated by the staff.
1.6 Erotic and Adult Roleplay
I - Despite being the RP setting circling around more adult themes, problems in the past with ERP have warranted certain rules. II - Those with the NSFW tag on the discord are those trusted to ERP, following the same principles of the former WoD on Boon. III - ERP must be done through the consent of both roleplayers who are above the age of 18. IV - Unwelcome sexual advances IC constitutes in a ban. V - If you are uncomfortable with a scene, do not feel you should continue it. If you are uncomfortable with another player, please contact a member of staff. VI - The World of Darkness addresses themes which are darker than your average RP, and are welcomed, but each participant in a scene which addresses these themes must be comfortable with the RP.
section 2: characters
2.1 Character Creation
I - You are allowed one Kindred (Vampire) character and one Kine (Human). II - Every Kindred starts at blood potency 1, despite generation. III - The lowest generation you can start at is Generation 12, where you are considered a Neonate/Childer. IV - Those who wish to RP a Thin-blood start at Generation 14 or higher, and begin with BP 0. V - Generation and age have no correlation. VI - The lowest generation possible is Generation 10, due to lore circumstances.
2.2 Disciplines
I - Your character starts with 1 Discipline at Level 2, and the other at Level 1. Some disciplines offer more than one option at each level, so pick what you think is best for your character. II - Caitiff are free to pick any 2 disciplines to start with. III - Thin-bloods do not have any disciplines other than Thin-blood alchemy. IV - Each level gained in a discipline allows access to 1 ability, not all of them in that level. V - At BP 1, a Vampire can make 4 checks a day before needing to feed. Each successful feed restores 1 check.
2.3 Character Development
I - Each night your character survives, they are awarded 3 points of XP. II - XP can be earned via character development and activity. III - Whilst each OOC day is logged as an IC night, a character can only be awarded XP if they have been active within that night. Activity is logged through update threads below the character biography. IV - XP spent must also be logged through an update thread. V - Second Inquisition hunters earn XP the same as Kindred. VI - Second Inquisition start with two levels in their preferred ability, and one in their other. VII - Whilst the abilities do not cost, spamming Inquisitor abilities without reason is prohibited. Realism is key.
2.4 Hunger and Checks
I - Each check/discipline ability you use brings you closer to the "Beast". II - If you use up 3 checks consecutively, you are deemed "extremely hungry" and are prone to impromptu feeding, and are susceptible to frenzy. III - If you use all 4 checks, you are starving, meaning you are particularly vulnerable to frenzying, and are often forced to feed on the closest source available. IV - Public Frenzying is deemed a breach of the Masquerade, even if there are no mortal RPCs to witness.
Section 3: blood
3.1 Blood bonding
I - Regnant: Kindred that has a Thrall bound to them. Thrall: Kindred that is bound to the Regnant. II - There are three distinct steps to blood bonding, they are as follows. 1) First Drink: The Thrall may have flashes of emotion regarding the Regnant. You may place yourself in a position to be useful to them; and try to be around them as much as possible. 2) Second Drink: The Regnant becomes the central figure of your life. While the Thrall is not completely bound to the Regnant, they will consider the wishes of the Regnant in deciding your actions and routine. 3) Third Drink: The Regnant becomes the most important thing in your life -- Nothing is more important than making your Regnant happy and you will do as they say. This does not require eye contact to dominate their Thrall. III - Blood bonds are formed over three nights (3 OOC Days). IV - After fully bonded, the blood bond is permanent until the death of the Regnant. V - If fully bonded to one Vampire, you are immune to all other blood bonds.
3.2 Blood Potency
I - Max BP is set at 10. II - Each level of BP adds 1 more check a character can make per day. III - Past BP 3, a Kindred can heal lethal damage after a scene. IV - Past BP 6, a Kindred can heal aggravated damage after a scene. V - Past BP 3, a Kindred no longer takes slakes hunger through consuming animal blood/blood bags. VI - Past BP 6, a Kindred must drain and kill a human to restore a check.
3.3 Feeding
I - Feeding can be done actively, through feeding on RPCs, or passively through feeding on NPCs. II - Draining and killing a mortal removes one point of humanity, and warrants a Masquerade Breach. III - Passive feeding takes one hour OOC between scenes, and restores one check. You can only OOCly feed once a day. IV - Items such as blood bags/transfusions can only be procured and stored under staff discretion. Blood bags used due to predator type whilst passively feeding cannot be stored. V - The "kiss" is a highly sensual experience, of which both mortals and kindred experience. Though it doesn't always have to be explicity rped as such, the act often transfixes a target. VI - Fully feeding on a Vampire and comitting diablerie removes two humanity. See Diablerie rules for more.
